American fashion tech startup Unspun uses machine learning and a proprietary ‘fit technology’ to provide shoppers with the perfect custom-made pair of jeans. The company’s unique set of tools allow for the creation of personalized styles directly tailored to a customer’s body.
“We took inspiration from the 3D-printing world, and wanted to create products on demand,” said Walden Lam, Co-Founder and CEO of Unspun. This past spring the company launched a VR-powered tool that allows prospective customers to input measurements and visualizes the fit of their custom-made jeans via a mobile app.
Now, Unspun has set its sights on developing a new, adjacent technology that utilizes “3D weaving” in order to speed up the customization process, ensure that shoppers receive their bespoke jeans within a matter of days, not months.
