Extended Platform Support Agreements

Unity and Meta Extend Their Multi‑Year Platform Agreement

Unity and Meta announced an extended multi‑year platform support and enterprise agreement that deepens their collaboration in virtual reality, with Unity continuing to provide engine support for Meta’s VR platform. The deal was introduced on Apr 8, 2026 and features ongoing technical and platform integrations designed to streamline development workflows, featuring tools and runtime support to help creators build and deploy VR apps.

Unity said the partnership will make it easier for developers to create, publish and grow games and business applications on Meta’s VR devices, while Meta framed the extension as a reinforcement of its investment in the VR developer community. For consumers, the agreement promises broader access to polished, performant VR experiences as tighter engine‑platform alignment typically reduces friction for creators and accelerates content availability on Meta headsets.
