A New York City's Gelso & Grand is now serving a unicorn cannoli that has pastry fans going wild.
Gelso & Grand is already well-known in the city for serving "New York's Largest Cannoli" and now pastry chef Cat Schimenti has created the ultimate dessert with her 'Unicornolli.' One side of this special treat is filled with lavender-berry buttercream mixed with strawberry puree, graham crackers and topped with lavender berry macarons. The other side features vanilla buttercream, sprinkles and funfetti cake inside of the cannoli and on top of it. The whole cannoli is dusted with 24K gold and served with a mini hammer for smashing the dessert.
Desserts that not only seem extravagant but provide a unique dining experience have become popular in recent years. The ability to move beyond flavor and provide consumers with a ritualized dining experience unique will draw attention to any eatery.
