The P2P rideshare company Uber recently announced Uber Health, a new service that aims to enhance accessibility for individuals who frequent hospitals.
Transportation can be an enormous barrier for individuals undergoing treatment at hospitals, and Uber Health is aiming to change that fact. In a partnership with various health organizations, Uber Health will offer flexible ride scheduling for patients, caregivers, and hospital staff. A smartphone is not required to use the service, as it can be ordered via text, mobile phone, or landline. It also ensures simple billing, reporting and management, and gives users the chance to schedule rides up to 30 days in advance.
With the ultimate goal of enhancing accessibility to healthcare, Uber's newest service is giving the company some much-needed good PR.
