Twitter's 'Moments' Function Will Catch You Up On the Latest News

Twitter's 'Moments' function has the chance to reaffirm the millennial adage that Twitter is their morning newspaper. Moments will essentially be a magazine-like function for the social media site that curates all of the day's, and the moment's top stories. Twitter's Moments is a simple solution to the problem of information overload. For new or inexperienced users, so much information is being posted in Twitter every second, that it can be overwhelming. Moments will condense and collect the most popular stories and will appear even for those who do not follow a single person.
Each Moment will comprise of a collection of tweets dedicated to a single topic or news story. The delicate work of curating and synthesizing these tweets will be done by a small team in Twitter's New York office, rather than a computerized function. Moments hopes to attract new audiences to the social media site, providing more direction for new users.
