The Tree Furniture by Anton Alvarez, a Swedish-Chilean designer based in London, England, and recent graduate from the Royal College of Art, is a stunning creation made out of a single tree trunk, hence its name. Utterly raw save for a one polished end, the trunk has taken on the shape of a bench in a way that stays true to its former life while embracing its new path.
Basically, the Tree Furniture by Anton Alvarez has been strategically cut three times on one side with a portable saw mill to reveal the clean geometric lines of a triangular prism. Created in collaboration with AHEC, American Hardwood Export Council, the other side retains its original form, bark and all.
