François Jaubert Designs the Eco-Friendly TRASHBOARD
References: trashboard.fr & yankodesign
François Jaubert designs the TRASHBOARD with the help of airplane maker Airbus. It takes on the traditional skateboard composition highlighted by its deck. Although it is already made from sustainable materials such as wood, there can be the issue of overuse of fresh wood. This leads to larger issues of deforestation and other environmental impacts over time.
This concept fuelled the idea of the TRASHBOARD, which boasts a sustainable design that uses recycled materials as alternatives to wood. It blends recycled and upcycled materials to form the deck into its uniquely genuine finish. The board is made from upcycled carbon collected from discarded aeronautic elements that were from Airbus to reduce the use of raw new materials. It also optimizes compressed recycled cardboard to make the deck's flex core.
