Paper People-Made Sculptures

The Transparent God Installation Represents Fragile Beliefs

People may find the Transparent God art installation impressive since it is a large scale sculpture made out of paper, but it is even more impressive when viewers learn that the material used has initially been cut to form mini people. The sheet from which these little cutouts originate from acts as a carpet. Strategically peeled away from the floor, it is almost as if the mini paper people have come alive to form the Transparent God.

Instead, the Transparent God installation was created by artist Peter Callesen. The sculpture can be taken as a commentary on religion and beliefs. Human beings form both, just as the little paper people form the giant 'god' before Callesen's audience. Coupled with the thin medium used, these beliefs are shown as fragile at best.
