Traditional Turkish coffee is a beverage so delightful and unique that it has been granted the status of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Turkey by UNESCO. That doesn't mean this coffee is inaccessible; on the contrary, it's easy to prepare at home if you have a couple of essential tools.
To begin, pour water into a small Turkish coffee cup and into a small brass coffee pot. Add two teaspoons of very fine Turkish coffee, fine enough that it ultimately sinks to the bottom. Then add two teaspoons of sugar if you want a little sweetness. Then stir the mixture on a small flame for about a minute. Then stop stirring and let the coffee come to a boil.
Once this is done, pour the coffee into the small coffee cup in one quick movement so that all the delicious foam is properly transferred. Your delectable traditional Turkish coffee is now ready to enjoy.
