The Top Spot app carries out a task that seems obvious, and yet is surprisingly useful. The clean, simple app lets users create playlists made up of the songs that they most frequently add into other playlists — it effectively lets frequent Spotify users' cream of the musical crop rise to the top.
Spotify's playlist-making is one of the reasons why the company has been a consistent leader in the music-streaming industry (and indeed in the music industry as a whole). Yet one of the features that the platform has been missing is the ability to see which songs are most popular in one's library. Aside from the company's annual top song playlists, there's no way to isolate what one listens to most. The Top Spot app serves as a great stopgap option.
