TikTok is Releasing a 'Watch History' Feature to Help Users Find Videos

'ByteDance,' the company behind the popular video-sharing platforms TikTok and Douyin, has announced the 'TikTok Watch History' feature for its western-targeted application. Currently, when using TikTok, it is very difficult to lose track of a video you recently watched unless you liked the video. This means if you remember a video you recently viewed and wanted to show a friend or coworker, you would need to remember the name of the creator who uploaded the video in order to find it again.

With this new Watch History feature, users will be able to view their usage log in the 'Settings and Privacy' section of the application. The Watch History function will only be viewable by the owner of the account, as it is not a public-facing feature. This is important to note because the 'Liked Videos' feed on TikTok is a public-facing feature that can be viewed on a user's profile.
