The Information is Launching a Cheaper Ticker App for Wider Appeal

The Information was initially founded in 2013 by Jessica Lessin, and since then has provided an ad-free subscription service for tech news. It was also announced that the new app will be priced at $29 a year, which is a much cheaper price point than the original service that costs $399 per year.

Previously, the higher price point was marketed toward those who needed tech information as a part of their job. However, the lower price point is intended for any individual interested in the tech industry.
