Tianjin Eye is the name of the oversize carnival ride nearing completion in Tianjin, North China. The wheel, with a jaw dropping diameter of over 100 yards, will hold 380 visitors at one time. It's built in the middle of the Chihai bridge and cars drive by on either side.
Implications - This gigantic ferris wheel called the Tianjin Eye is another attempt on part of a certain region to attract tourists. Fear of the recession is causing many cities and countries to come up with new, inventive way to boost their economy, such as odd attractions to lure in tourism. This can serve as an example for other areas experiencing similar issues.
