Once properly in place, the smartphone's camera auto-focuses and shows the slide under the microscope in crisp and clear detail. The image can be saved and sent just like a normal picture.
The SkyLight allows schools and other organizations to update their science equipment without having to spend a ton of many. Not many school districts or rural laboratories have money to spend on new microscopes, but nearly everyone owns a smartphone of some type.
