Re-Drawn Cartoon Credits

This Re-Imagining of the Simpsons Intro is Fantastically Warped

This re-imagining of the Simpsons intro warps, bends and multiplies the familiar inhabitants of Springfield to create a psychedelic interpretation of the well-known cartoon sequence.

The short video, titled 'Weird Simpsons VHS,' is the creation of director and animator Yoann Hervo, with sound design by Florian Calmer. The project essentially takes the Simpsons intro -- which has remained largely unchanged since the animated show's inception in 1989 -- and makes it weirder. The reinterpretation gives the impression that the Simpsons intro sequence is either being played on a broken VHS tape, or that it's occurring in the mind of someone who has ingested a mind-altering substance.

Re-imaginings, mash-ups and medium-shifting recreations of popular shows and films are hugely popular in the realm of Internet fan art -- and this new version of the Simpsons intro is a perfect example.
