The Muraste Cottage by KUU Architects is Traditional Yet Contemporary
Madison Mackay — March 7, 2018 — Art & Design
KUU Architects created the Muraste Cottage in Estonia. The cottage pulls inspiration from traditional Estonian designs, with a new and modern twist.
Placed in the depths of the surrounding forest, this cottage is made with oversized windows that provide a view of the trees and the Baltic Sea in every room. The home is made up of three units, with a main living area and bedroom directly attached. The white walls and minimal furnishing of the interior provides a contrast from the natural wooded exterior. The large outdoor living area connects the home to the detached sauna that features a tar oil finish.
The Muraste Cottage by KUU Architects is completely privately this year to create a comfortable yet unique vacation space.
