Modular Aluminium Lights

The Dune Light by Moss Adds New Finishes Tp Its Curved Lighting System

The Dune light by Moss is a modular lighting system designed by Daniel Becker that uses a sequence of curved aluminium elements to form large-scale luminaires. The system is designed for architectural spaces and can be configured in linear, vertical, or spiral arrangements depending on the installation. Each segment connects through an integrated system, allowing the light to adapt to different interior volumes and ceiling heights. The design references the shifting forms of sand dunes through its repeating curved profiles.

The light is constructed from satin-finished aluminium elements that are anodised or polished to create different surface effects. Each curved shade both reflects and shields the internal LED source, producing layered light and shadow across the structure. New finishes expand the available surface treatments, adding variation to the metallic tones.

Modular Curved Lighting
A system of interlocking curved aluminium modules enables the creation of large, continuous luminaires that adapt to varied spatial geometries and scale.
Finish Diversification in Metals
Expanded anodised and polished surface treatments create new aesthetic and reflective behaviors that can differentiate products through tactile and visual finishes.
Configurable Lighting Architectures
Linear, vertical, and spiral arrangements driven by standardized connections support bespoke lighting compositions tailored to architectural volumes.

Sectors Adopting This

Architectural Lighting
Specification-driven projects could leverage modular aluminium systems to deliver site-specific luminaires that integrate form-making with lighting performance.
Interior Architecture
Interior designers may exploit scalable curved lighting to define circulation paths, accentuate volumetric shifts, and create layered ambient effects.
Sustainable Materials Manufacturing
Producers of aluminium components and surface finishes can explore low-impact anodising and recyclable modular assemblies to meet demand for durable, design-forward materials.
