Flowing Coffee Tables

The & Chair Modular Furniture Piece Transforms into Various Items

The & Chair is a multifunction coffee table that transforms into various other pieces of furniture. Its flowing design also allows it to be easily stored, making it suitable for limited spaces or tiny homes. Designed by Taiwan-based Shin Chen, the & Chair is inspired by the shape of the ampersand.

Handmade from a collection of sustainable materials such as ash wood, the piece boasts a flowing design that takes on a natural shape, making it easy for users to change its function as it changes positions. In its upright position, the & Chair acts as a coat rack with drawer storage. Users can change its positioning to act as a coffee table with slot-and-rack storage space. In addition, the piece can be configured into a high stool and a bench.
