Fan-Made Burger Signatures

The Big Mac Signature Was Created by Fans, AI and a Robot Arm

McDonald's signature burger is finally getting an autograph of its own, and the aid of 256,000 fans and a robot arm made The Big Mac Signature possible.

The Big Mac inspired the name of an economic index and the iconic fast food burger even has a whole museum dedicated to its history. Despite its celebrity status around the world, the Big Mac—up until now—has lacked an autograph of its own and McDonald’s Sweden invited fans to leave their contribution in the McDonald’s app in exchange for a free Big Mac burger. AI and algorithms processed the many autographs into a single signature thanks to the Dynamic Time Warp technique.

The 100 most dedicated fans who contributed to the autograph, as determined by in-app data, will be rewarded with exclusive Big Mac portraits signed by the industrial robot fitted with a human-like hand.
