'That House' is an innovatively designed and structured sustainable home located in the Australian city of Melbourne and designed by Austin Maynard Architects (formerly Andrew Maynard Architects).
This high-end home takes up about half the footprint of neighboring homes but doesn't compromise on facilities, amenities, design or quality of living. The home is equipped with a wide variety of sustainable features including but not limited to a rooftop solar panel array to draw in power from the hot Australian sun and a rainwater collection system to take care of water needs. The home adopts the form of a trip of rectangular spaces, all of which combine to take up a total floor space of about 255 square meters.
Ultimately, this sustainable house aims to reinvent the residential dwelling by shedding unused space and embracing sustainable features.
