Due to the scale on which everything from smartphone chargers to speakers are produced, it's virtually impossible to find a tech design that doesn't include plastic components. To address the fact that there's a staggering amount of electronic waste that's generated annually, Italian designer Mario Alessiani created the Soul Tech collection, which favors materials like glass, wood and metal.
In the designer's Soul Tech collection, there's a smartphone charger, a Bluetooth speaker and a touchscreen pen, all of which are plastic-free. While the Bluetooth speaker is propped up by a piece of glass and integrates weathered steel, the wireless charging base is made up of wood, copper and brass. As well as boasting interesting designs that set themselves apart from their plastic counterparts, the tech designs celebrate craftsmanship and invite people to explore the beauty of alternative materials.
