Designer Tom Sachs re-launches one of his most iconic light sculptures from his 'Tea Ceremony' exhibit from 2016 -- it is now revived in New York's Nogochi Museum. The special lamp is a limited edition piece and was originally a design created as a collaborative effort between Sachs and the museum. It is now available once again online for the price of $1,200 USD and it imitates the signature 'Akari Light Sculptures' by Isamu Noguchi.
The original sculptures are constructed using a light fabric material wrapped around a sleek frame. Each lamp boasts the same construction and features original drawings that were hand-drawn by Sachs himself. The illustrations represent his own iteration of the NASA Apollo lunar lander. Every lamp is unique to its own as Sachs personally draws each one, totalling up to a limited 110 pieces.
