'Take a Bite out of Hunger' Steals the Show at Canstruction LA

The Take a Bite out of Hunger canned sculpture is perhaps one of the most impressive Canstruction creations to date. This candy-toothed shark is seen to be breaking the surface of bottled water waves. Pronounced "structurally amazing, graphically beautiful, and conceptually clever," by the jury of Canstruction LA, it was definitely deemed a show favorite.

Designed and created by RTKL Associates, the Take a Bite out of Hunger canned sculpture was displayed at the Westfield Culver City Shopping Mall in Los Angeles. Considering that this unique exhibit has managed to raise over 197,525 cans of food for the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank over the span of the last five years, it is no wonder that RTKL was inspired to illustrate it with their shark sculpture.
