The Sustaineer is a concept van from Mercedes-Benz that was created to provide "a tangible impression of just how sustainability in urban delivery operations may look in the future." The design of the fully electric vehicle is based on Mercedes-Benz’s own eSprinter Panel Van and it is actually designed to improve the quality of air around it.
Complete with a rooftop solar panel and a form that incorporates recycled materials, the EV has the potential to get 2,361 miles a year of range in sunny areas, and thanks to the solar panel, the batteries can still be charged when the ignition is off. The air-cleaning vehicle is equipped with a fine particle filter on its front and underbody to take in pollution as it navigates cities.
