Supersonic Flight-Inspired Watch Designs

Casio America Debuts the G-SHOCK GRAVITYMASTER Line

Casio America has introduced the GWRB3000 series to its G-SHOCK GRAVITYMASTER line — a collection of three distinct watch models inspired by the immense power of supersonic flight and engineered to withstand the demanding forces associated with high-speed aviation environments.

The new G-SHOCK GRAVITYMASTER series incorporates TOUGH MVT 2, an advanced movement technology that includes shock detection to sense strong impacts and correct hand position through a full rotation for constant accuracy. The timepieces also boast magnetic field detection that pauses hand movement until interference passes.

To achieve a lightweight yet highly protective structure, the engineers employed topology optimization for the supersonic flight-inspired watches. This simulation method analyzes dropping shocks, centrifugal force, and vibrations. It ultimately refined the design through repeated simulations to create a dual hollow structure combining a resin shock absorber with a metal protection case.
