LEGO Superhero Statues

These Whimsical Statues Depict Famous DC Comic Book Characters

Nathan Sawaya recently designed a series of stunning superhero statues out of individual LEGO bricks. Sawaya is a world famous LEGO artist, whose creations run the gamut from a 20-foot long Tyrannosaurus rex to a replica of the Iwo Jima flag-raising statue. His latest series tackles some of the most famous heroes and villains from DC Comics.

Showcased at San Diego's annual ComicCon, the superhero statues put a LEGO-inspired twist on the infamous superheroes and supervillains of DC. As Sawaya explains, "I was looking to explore the theme of good and evil, so what better inspiration than the comics?" His creations thus try to capture the very essence of each character from their famous facial expressions, down to their flowing capes. Some of the characters features in the new collection include Batman, Catwoman and the Joker.
