Those who are lucky enough to get one relaxing day off each week might revel in those comforting objects and activities that inspire truly satisfying feelings of freedom and leisure. The Sunday Morning Breakfast collection was designed to embody the delightful sentimentality of mindfully opening up an egg carton to prepare an indulgent rest day meal.
This paperpulp project by Jorien Kuipers of JorienDesign manifests as a complete set of quirky culinary objects for containing bits and pieces of food and garnishes. Two tall textured vessels, a shallow plate and a double eggcup are among these. Along with the other more peculiar-looking items within the Sunday Morning Breakfast collection, these all have a roughness to their surfaces that mimics the thick layered card of your one dozen egg containers. Painted in soft pastel blues, pinks and pasty whites, the objects channel the still life subjects of the artist Morandi.
