PepsiCo has launched a new product line of craft sodas called, 'Stubborn Soda.'
Stubborn Soda is aimed at Millennial consumers, who are drinking less soda than previous generations. The line includes five flavors, like root beer, vanilla cream and black cherry. The new line is made with fair trade-certified cane sugar and no high fructose syrup. The Stubborn Sodas offer much more unique flavors that normal soda, and less calories at only 90-100 calories for a 12 oz. glass as compared to 150 for regular soda.
PepsiCo is trying to lure Millennials into liking soda by providing them a craft product option that is better than regular soda because of its flavor and no high fructose syrup. PepsiCo's choice for pursuing a craft product line was inspired by the current success of craft beer products.
