The Stranden Waterfront is located in Norway, and Link Arkitektur recently refurbished the area to encourage more spontaneous interaction for locals and tourists.
The promenade was widened to allow for an easier walkway when it becomes busy. Moreover, benches are set up on the side of the area to encourage relaxation from visitors, and a spontaneous break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. According to DesignBoom, "the waterfront promenade is one of the city’s most vibrant urban areas, and the renewal increases visual and physical contact with the fjord, while also encouraging social interaction and diversity." This is exactly what Link Arkitektur has done with the Stranden Waterfront, and it shows. More people have started to come to the area and take in the good weather and friendly company.
