RYOT Studio, an immersive media company, recently launched a new app that allows viewers to experience the events from the 1969 Stonewall Riots in augmented reality. The app pays tribute to the fateful events that took place 50 years earlier at the Stonewall Inn.
The company created a digital Stonewall Inn, where users can view and hear from five different characters including Sylvia Rivera, Raymond Castro, Yvonne Ritter, Lucian K. Truscott IV, and Deputy Inspector Seymour Pine. Users simply tap "play" to hear accounts from each historical figure. These accounts were created from decades worth of interviews.
This pride-honoring digital experience is an immersive way to allow viewers to experience the Stonewall Riots in a multi-sensational way.
