This stimulation device was designed to improve arm mobility in stroke victims and provide hope of recovery to extreme cases. Swiss startup Intento is using the muscle-stimulating system to make stroke rehabilitation more effective and significantly simpler.

Created for severely paralyzed stroke patients, the tech-focused rehab solution helps people regain their upper limb function, even years after the stroke happened. The electrical stimulation device is described as easy to use, as it does not require any previous or in-depth knowledge of how to place electrodes -- a significant change compared to other available medical options.

This example of digital wearables is aimed at a smaller segment of the population, although, millions are affected by strokes worldwide with 30% of those being affected by paralysis.
