In an attempt to makes its company name synonymous with gaming, 'Amazon' has announced its own sports gaming league which is operated by its live streaming platform 'Twitch.'
Called the 'eSports Championship Series,' this league is the first of its kind to offer co-ownership -- something that is allowed in "traditional professional sports leagues." This allows teams and players to join the leagues governing committee which enforces frameworks and practices such as regulation, "integrity, players' welfare, holidays and best practices." Giving competitors an unprecedented amount of control over the overall vision and direction of the league allows for further engagement among them as well as their supporters.
This sports gaming league better caters to its players to relive some of their scheduling and compensatory issues -- allowing them to focus on the sport itself.
