The brand new sports arena in the Calabrian town of Lamezia Terme in Italy comes equipped with comfortable pillow-like exterior cushioning that not only looks delightful but plays a very important role in regulating the temperature of the structure while ensuring that it is suitable lighted.

The 8,000 square meter structure, designed by Vittorio Grassi Architetto & Partners, features a pleasingly smooth and curvy shape. This shape meets seismic requirements of the region whilst also taking full advantage of winds to provide effortless natural ventilation. The sports arena's design also enables reduced heat harnessing in the summer, and helps promote heat retention in the cold winter months. This helps the facility's users stay comfortable, while keeping energy costs to a minimum.

This sports arena is a shining example of how eco-friendly architecture can be functional as well as aesthetically pleasing, without intruding on functionality.
