The Spine Optics Hinges Hold Your Glasses Firmly In Place

Spine Optics is a company that offers a range of frames that come with a unique self-closing hinge mechanism. Inspired by the human backbone, this setup ensures that glasses are firmly held in place on your face, and even offers extra flexibility in order to fit heads of different sizes. and shapes.

The system is modeled after the human spine in that it comprises a series of vertebrae in such a way that nothing pivots on a screw, and none of the individual pieces need to rotate any more than 18 degrees. The contraption is held securely together by a wire cable that is kept under constant tension by a dual-spring mechanism that ensures that the glasses close up when they're not being held open.

Eyeglass frames have evolved a fair bit already, but Spine Optics' mechanism is 'threatening' to initiate a quantum leap in eyeglass frame design.
