While there are plenty of recipes and store-bought options to satisfy a craving for spiced almonds, Trader Joe’s is launching a new way for consumers to indulge their desire for a snack with heat and a globally inspired twist.

Trader Joe’s Gochujang Flavored Almonds are tossed with a gochujang spice blend that reminds of the traditional fermented Korean condiment, which is prepared with red chilies. On top of this, the notes are seasoned with tamari (also known as gluten-free soy sauce) and salt. The resulting flavor combination is one that’s described as complex, with "spicy, sweet, and umami flavors."

The distinctive flavors of Gochujang are mainly being introduced to North American consumers through dips, sauces and spreads, but this new snack product offers consumers a mess-free way to snack on the go.
