The 'Sourdough Summer Ale' marks a bold and imaginative collaboration between two of Toronto’s artisanal trailblazers: Stonemill Bakehouse and Something In The Water Brewing Co. This limited-edition seasonal release redefines craft brewing by incorporating Stonemill’s time-honoured sourdough starter—used for over four decades—into a refreshingly original ale. The resulting brew offers "layered complexity, with bright fruit aromatics, warm spice, and nuanced toasted sourdough notes, all finishing with a crisp, bread-like elegance."

Blending heritage with innovation, the Sourdough Summer Ale represents Stonemill’s first foray into beer-making. “This is a creative new expression of our long-standing commitment to food made with care and intention,” notes Alistair Senn, Marketing Director at Bimbo Canada.

Launching on June 26 at Something In The Water’s Toronto taproom, the release includes curated tastings and a menu inspired by Stonemill’s celebrated breads.
