The HomePod and HomePod mini by Apple updates its Sound Recognition feature. Now, it is able to alert home owners when an alarm goes off while they are not present. The feature was recently unveiled along with the full-size iteration of the speaker. After users set up this feature through the Home app accessible through their Apple device.
The HomePod will be able to listen for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. When it detects one, it sends out an alert to the rest of the Apple devices. Additionally, users will also see a banner in the Home app in case the notification may be missed. From this, they can check their devices to hear the alarm and call for assistance accordingly.
