Jony Ive and his design agency LoveFrom have been busy and its latest project dives back into his hardware era, launching a refined iteration of the Sondek LP12 by Linn to honor its 50th anniversary. Ive spoke to Fast Company about the project and explained that it was a “very gentle and modest project” for the agency and also comes from his team's admiration of Linn overall.
He continues, "There are many things that I’ve always wanted to be able to do purely for the love of doing them." The new model is a modular turntable and the special-edition essentially has the same look as the standard LP12 turntable with some tweaks including rounded corners and a circular aluminum power button.
