These smiley face screws may seem like a strange piece of construction technology, but they could be a fun and useful alternative to normal screws. The screws and accompanying screwdrivers were made by Studio Yumakano, and provide a cheerful side to renovation and construction.
Screws are so commonplace and easy-to-miss, so redesigning them has never been a priority. These smiley face screws, however, show that there can be good ideas in this arena -- and they do so with a smile on their face.
The purpose of 'The Screw:)' is to add joy to everyday mass-produced products. It may be a ways off before they become common, but they do work as a little pleasant surprise within everyday objects.
