The SITU smart scale is a scale that weighs your food and tells you about its nutritional content. Users can input what food they are weighing on the scale, which is connected to Bluetooth. An accompanying app then automatically generates nutritional information such as calorie, protein and fiber content as well as other information usually present on food labels.

All you have to do is place a food product on a scale, find the type of food listed in the app and drag the icon to the scale image. The smart scale then weighs the food and displays its nutritional content. The app not only shows nutritional information for current meals, but keeps track of your nutritional history so you can track your eating habits over time.

The SITU smart scale has an average battery life of about six months, and uses Bluetooth 4.0 to connect to an iPad. The smart scale currently only supports iPads running iOS7, but its creators plan to eventually make it compatible to iPhones, Android phones and tablets and Windows tablets.
