Alexa has added three new smart light features that can help people acclimate to their schedules. One of the new smart light features is wake-up lighting, where a user can set an alarm where lights will gradually turn on when the alarm goes off. Users also have the ability to set lights so they dim as they fall asleep. Additionally, lights can be dimmed or brightened according to the user's schedule. The new features will be available to Alexa users in the United States shortly.
The ability to control lighting is not included on many voice assistant devices, making Alexa's new capabilities unique. Automatically syncing lights to a user's schedule may be viewed as an important feature by consumers, and the added capabilities could encourage more people to purchase Alexa devices.
