Shark-Themed Airplane Fleets

Southwest Airlines is Celebrating Shark Week with Five Unique Planes

In celebration of Shark Week, Southwest Airlines is inviting consumers to take a bite out of the sky by releasing a fleet of five shark-themed airplanes.

Each plane celebrates a different shark with the Tiger Shark in Chicago, Bull Shark in Houston, the Mako Shark in Phoenix, and the Hammerhead Shark and Great White Shark in Dallas. In addition to the decorated exterior of the plane, travelers on-board can experience a variety of shark-themed content thanks to the airline's partnership with The Discovery Channel.

This creative marketing stunt nods toward the ultra-popular Shark Week on television, which attracts a global audience annually. This week typically sees numerous marketing tactics that play into the public's love of the predator.
