Shadow sculpturing is an art-form that manipulates items to create a shadow image. Shigeo Fukuda is well known for his work in this area. "Lunch With A Helmet On" is a piece of art made from 848 welded forks, knives and spoons. When a light is shined on the pile of utensils, a shadow emerges in the shape of a motorcycle. Amazing.
Implications - Due to the Internet's ability to offer an artist exposure, more and more artists are now having to differentiate themselves and their craft. Artists are becoming increasingly conscious of this opportunity to further express their artistic talent through ubiquitous natural phenomena like shadows. There is a societal shift towards creating unique alternatives to tradition that all industries should be conscious of in their brand presentation, marketing and packaging.
