Ortega® Extends Cinco de Mayo Celebrations with Seis de Mayo

Ortega — the leading brand of Mexican food products, best known for its taco sauce — has declared May 6 as Seis de Mayo. This new annual holiday is intended to extend Cinco de Mayo celebrations by an extra day.

Ortega's inaugural Seis de Mayo activation boasts taco truck pop-ups in Chicago. These mobile food destination feature breakfast tacos and a limited-time Chicago Taco Dog that places a classic Chicago-style hot dog inside an Ortega taco shell topped with Ortega sauce. In addition, the brand has introduced a larger-than-life character named Brotega to lead Seis de Mayo festivities and has revealed that it plans a nationwide recipe series called The Seis 50 featuring tacos inspired by iconic dishes from all 50 states.

Ortega is also offering a buy-one-get-one free promotion on select products from May 5 through May 6 at participating retailers.
