Those who live in the Northern Hemisphere know how long and painstaking this past winter has been; only now are northern countries seeing signs of season transition. Finland’s transition from winter to spring has been one of the most awaited. However, it has finally arrived for the Finnish and photographer Valtteri Mulkahainen recently documented it.
His pictures showcase the snow-covered countryside slowly disintegrate. He snaps the photos as the sun is rising and setting so he can include its warm orangey-red colors reflecting off the snow and ice. The morning and evening glow is stunning and show the true beauty of Mother Nature. Though some inhabitants may have been upset with the never-ending winter, any of them who were to look at these photos would instantly appreciate the season again.
