The 'Schweben' Hanging Chair Has a Modernist Aesthetic

The 'Schweben' hanging chair is a modernist furniture piece that blends the functionality of a seating solution with that of an art installation. Designed by Omar Idriss, the chair has been created in three shape options including a circle, square and triangle that can come in four colors such as red, blue, white or yellow. Each of the seats are crafted from wood with an inner metal bar that helps to enhance the shape and stability of the unit when being used.

The 'Schweben' hanging chair works by being suspended from the ceiling via a 10mm metal rope that features an embedded bearing ring. This will prevent the chair from rolling and shifting, which could cause the support to twist unnecessarily.
