Viking is expanding its fleet of Scandinavian-designed river ships with the delivery of the Viking Rota, a new vessel accommodating 190 passengers across 95 staterooms. The ship incorporates Viking's established Longship features, including a patented square bow that allows for three complete decks. Its asymmetric corridor arrangement creates space for two-room suites, while the indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace provides additional areas for passengers to relax. The vessel will operate along Europe's Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers.
The addition increases Viking's capacity across popular European itineraries, including the Rhine Getaway and Grand European Tour. Its efficient layout supports comfortable accommodations while maintaining the company's recognizable design approach. With 18 more river ships expected by 2028, Viking is positioning itself to accommodate growing interest in experiential travel while expanding booking opportunities across its established cruise network.
