These Battered Disney Ads by Saint Hoax Hope to Put an End to Domestic Abuse

Middle Eastern graphic illustrator Saint Hoax recently put together these images of battered Disney princesses as part of an ad campaign against domestic abuse. The images are chilling as they depict traditionally fulfilled and happy female cartoon characters with cuts, bruises and scrapes.

The campaign, ironically titled ‘Happy Never After,’ depicts the classic Disney princesses Ariel, Jasmine, Cinderella and Aurora with faces filled with inexcusable injuries. Each of the images asks the viewer to contemplate if they’re being properly treated by their significant other with the question “when did he stop treating you like a princess?” followed by, “it’s never to late to put an end to it.” Saint Hoax hopes that the shocking images of Disney princesses will help victims of domestic abuse step forward and report their cases.
