‘Art In The Age’ is producing an alcoholic root tea that draws inspiration from the traditional Native American drink. In the 1700s, root tea was brewed from ingredients such as sarsaparilla sassafras, birch bark and other wild roots. In the prohibition era, the alcohol was removed from the root tea and it was re-branded as root beer.
The new root liquor from Art In The Age turns back the clock and tries to recreate the taste of true pre-temperance era alcoholic root tea. The new liquor is made from 13 certified organic ingredients and sweetened with a little bit of pure cane sugar. While root beer is known for its sweet taste, this liquor is on the bitter side. The boozy liquor is best enjoyed as a shot, over ice or as a mixed cocktail.
