Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresi are the Italian duo whose talents combine to create Studio Formafantasma, a company that's based in Amsterdam. The two sought to bring together local culture and history with time-tested crafting techniques for the collection -- merging ideas to create a series of decorative and functional homeware. The Roman design features are shown in its classic shapes but are contrasted with contemporary accents and finishes well. Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresi looked to translate the pieces that they observed in Rome to the modern era, utilizing traditional material and even naming the pieces after locations in the area.
